A Big Thank You

Thank you for supporting this special art exhibition and auction in aid of Evelina London Children’s Charity.

Inspired by the theme Home from Home, the exhibition has sparked a collection of imaginative, original, and deeply poignant pieces contributed by patients and families, Evelina London staff and supporters, and ADP’s past and present employees.

How The Collaboration Formed

ADP Architecture is designing the new Principal Treatment Centre for children’s cancer, as well as new spaces for existing kidney and heart services at Evelina London Children’s Hospital.

As part of this work, they had conversations with patients and their families about how these areas could be designed to feel like a ‘home from home’. Having heard about the families’ hospital journeys, they were inspired to support Evelina London Children’s Charity through their annual Art Challenge.

The Origins of the Art Challenge

The Art Challenge was launched in 2018 by ADP’s former Chair, Roger FitzGerald, as a way for employees to express creativity while raising money for charity. Following Roger’s passing in 2022 after a battle with cancer, the challenge serves as a tribute to his legacy.

A light in the storm: The inspiration behind this year's art challenge

This year’s art challenge is inspired by the powerful journey of the extraordinary families we’ve met while being part of the children's cancer programme at Evelina London. Their courage, honesty, and creativity have left a lasting impression on us all.

One family in particular, the Jarmans, shared their experience in a way that truly moved us. Rosie sadly passed away from cancer but left a lasting legacy with her book 'A Mountain in my Heart'. Her sister, Molly, has created the artwork in this brochure to beautifully express what matters most during life’s most difficult moments.

Molly’s painting, of Evelina London as a bright light beneath a stormy sky, captured our imaginations. It’s this image that sparked the idea for a collaborative art challenge with Evelina London.

Evelina London is part of Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust and is the second largest provider of children's services in London.

They care for families in local areas and provide an extensive range of specialist services for children with rare and complex conditions from across south London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.

They provide hospital care and treatment at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, a purpose-built children’s hospital, their Children’s Day Treatment Centre, and at Royal Brompton and Harefield hospitals.

Their community services care for children and families in Lambeth and Southwark. Evelina London has been chosen as the future site for specialist children's cancer services for south London and much of southeast England.
